What Can a £500 Grant Mean to a Family?

When people hear that Therapy Stars Foundation offers grants of up to £500, one of the first questions they ask is, “How much difference can £500 really make?”

It’s a fair question.

The reality is that specialist therapy can be expensive, and a £500 grant won’t always cover the full cost of a course of treatment. What it can do is help make therapy more accessible, reducing some of the financial pressure on families and making it easier to access the support their child needs.

There isn’t a single answer to what a £500 grant can fund because there isn’t a single therapy journey. Every child has different goals, different challenges and different needs, which is why every application is considered individually.

Supporting Families at the Right Time

For some, a grant helps fund a block of physiotherapy or speech and language therapy. For others, it contributes towards occupational therapy, hydrotherapy, counselling or another specialist intervention that has been recommended for their child.

Our grants are designed to ease some of the financial pressure that families face in accessing therapies, helping them take the next step when they feel ready.

What Can the Grant Help Fund?

Our grants can be used to help fund a wide range of specialist therapies, including:

  • Physiotherapy
  • Speech and language therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Hydrotherapy & Aquatic therapy
  • MAES Therapy
  • Music therapy
  • Counselling

Every child is different, so not every application looks the same. The therapies above are just some of the ways our grants can be used, and we’re always happy to discuss individual circumstances. You can find our full eligibility criteria, along with more information about the therapies we can support, on our Apply page.

Looking Ahead

As Therapy Stars Foundation continues to grow, we hope to support even more families across Shropshire, Cheshire, Mid and North Wales by funding grants that help make specialist therapy more accessible.

Every donation, fundraising event and act of generosity helps us continue that work, ensuring more families can access support when they need it most. Find out how to get involved here.
